Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

We went with a bunch of kids so along with food service mattered as well. And in both those areas they scored well. Bread sticks were excellent, melted in the mouth. Pizzas were very flavorful and well made. They were not too soggy or runny....just the right kind. Prices were reasonable as well. So, I would recommend this place and will go again if I get a chance.

We ordered pizza, wings, subs, and salad. Not sure why the ratings are so high...the only thing that was superior were the wings--very crispy and flavorful. The service was very friendly but lacking--we had to seek out refills and napkins and such. I probably would try somewhere else before coming back.

Our first night in Myrtle Beach and the kids wanted pizza. I am gluten free so it can be a challenge finding palatable options - especially pizza. I have to say Pizza a la Roma III served some of the best gluten free pizza I have had. Even the non-gf family members thought it was good. The owner and staff were very friendly and provided us with excellent service and conversation. Would definitely recommend.

The pizza was delicious! However I gave them 3 stars because the restaurant needs a facelift. The floors seemed grimy and dirty and the bathrooms were disgusting. The waitress was very friendly.

As my kids learned today, never judge a book by its cover or a pizza place in this case. After a fun evening at walking at the boardwalk, we were.wanting something easy for dinner...luckily we just happened upon this delicious pizza joint. We had breadsticks, which were just the right amount of cheesy with marina, the boys enjoyed wings, and two large pizzas. The pizza was fantastic with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Since we visited during off season, we weren't able to try the buffet but the kids are hoping for another trip in the future to try it out! Oh and they have the good toilet paper in the restrooms...quilted northern! ;)

This is one of those rare places where the service pushed me to rank this place a four-star establishment, over the food taste and quality (which would still be a 3-star experience). The owner is a dream human. Friendly, funny and attentive. He had our to-go order of pizza ready to go in the promised 15 minutes. He even had more of a conversation about Colorado than the usual "isn't it snowing there?" comment. In terms of the pizza, it was average yet probably the best you'll find in Myrtle Beach. The crust was lacking flavor, but was chewy and soft. The sauce was somewhat bland, and just tasted like tomato. Not my favorite. The toppings were fresh and well distributed between the ribbons of cheese. I've had better pizza, but there is nothing inherently disgusting about this place's version. Lesson is......order a pizza or two to go, sit on the beach and enjoy yourself. And make sure you chat with the owner.

Ate here today and the place was great. Had the calzone, pizza, and an Italian hoagie and everything was great an affordable. Nostalgic atmosphere as well. The man working even had a sense of humor about a phone call made to ask if the place was open. Highly recommend taking the friends and family here.

Our second year dining here and I must say, it was as delicious as the first. The quality of the food was outstanding and the service exceptionally personal. Pizza was the specialty but adding the Sweet and Spicy Wings topped things off nicely. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a enjoyable experience at an affordable price. I would rate this as one of the best meals of our trip!

It was good. We had a medium pizza with ham & pineapple and a small cheese pizza. Nothing special about it, but it was good pizza. Waiter was friendly and price was good. Wasn't mind blowing pizza, but overall the pizza was good

Warning. Read the whole story. A la Roma doesn't mean Italian. This is a "Greek" restaurant and a poor representation of one at that. Stopped by and it seemed like there were lot of people in it, once in, I realized the cars parked were the ones belonging to the owners and staff. First impressions first. It is dated, dirty floors, table cloths are made out of leather looking vinyl, dirty ceiling tiles... At this point we should have turned around, but it was late, our kids were hungry and besides, if the pictures and awards displayed at front were true, maybe we were at a diamond in the rough, so we decided to give it a try. Now to the menu: I ordered a wine and the waiter came back saying they were out of red wines, at that point I went with juice. The kids ordered pita pizza, which tasted and looked like breaded cardboard. Husband ordered beef lasagna, he says it was eatable and woke up this morning still feeling the cinder block in his stomach. I ordered the #5 plus chicken calzone. Once it arrived I could tell it was a normal bread from a cheap bakery, they had cut an slit on it and filled up with the ingredients, in other words, a sandwich that was put in the oven. When I asked the waiter if this was some kind of Stromboli, she said "no! It's a calzone". Obviously not her or the cook knew what a calzone was. Needles to say, I ate some of my eatable sandwich, now concern about the ingredients, because if the front of the house is dirty, the wait staff is rude and lacks of training and the owners allow this at the view of the public, I can't and don't want to imagine the state of that kitchen and the freshness of their produce. At the end the waiter asked if I wanted the cannoli I had mentioned at the beginning and I declined. All in all one Star is more than what they deserve.

Came here with my family and it was great. Had pizza, a calzone and fried ravioli's.. They were all amazing. The ravioli's were flavorful and homemade. Both the pizza and calzone were delicious and the crust was awesome! Crisp outside but soft like a dinner roll inside. Lastly... The staff was friendly and had great conversation.

For a Italian buffet this was really good. The pizza was good. The wings were excellent and pasta was great, lasagna, and stuffed shells all for $13. Great looking deserts too(didn't try them though) I also took a calzone to go, one of the best I've ever had and I've had many.

The pizza was decent. I have had better. My wife and I visited Myrtle Beach during the off-season. The restaurant was quiet and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this restaurant.

Thin crust NY style. Ordered sausage and pepperoni. Pizza was OK but nothing special. Sauce was bland and the pepperoni and sausage lacked even a little kick. Nothing to distinguish it from the other numerous pizza places in MB.

We were looking for a delicious, but inexpensive place to eat for dinner, and we definitely found that here! Glad I checked yelp for recommendations because the food was very good. My only complaint was the outdated decor, but will definitely come back for the food and friendly service.

  • Tyler S.

Grabbed a white pie, meat special pie and a dozen wings here while on vacation. The pizzas had a thin, crispy crust with plenty of toppings. The wings had a nice crunch and weren't drowning in sauce. Really enjoyed the sweet and spicy wing sauce, great balance of sweet and heat. I would definitely order from here again. The prices were very reasonable. I did have to wait half an hour for my food (take out) but everything was made to order, so no biggie. Decor reminded me of an 80's joint, but the place is clean. I also noticed that during peak season they have a buffet with all of the Italian staples for $15.

Great Greek salad, homemade Italian dressing, big feta and fresh veggies. Pizza crust and toppings fresh and tasty as well. The giros looked good but we didn't get one.

  • Valerie B.

Worst pizza buffet we have ever had. Pizza tastes like cardboard and cold. We got there 45 mins after the buffet started and looked like it had been sitting there all day. We took 1 bite and walked out. Not worth $14 per person.

Living in Indiana, visiting family in SC, who'd have thought I'd get great NY pizza here?! Well, as a native New Yorker and stickler for REAL NY pizza - Roma's pizza was a delicious and shocking treat. Crust was perfect, sauce was absolutely delicious and the pepperoni was crispy and plentiful. A definite "must stop" when in MB!!

  • Jeneen C.

Visited this place while on vacay in Myrtle Beach, SC. We weren't sure what to expect, just stopped in figured we could get pizza. Boy were we in for a surprise! The menu had a great selection and our server was attentive and friendly! The restaurant had a very homely feel. I ordered the Stromboli with meatballs, I was a little hesitant since I've never had meatballs in a Stromboli! Let's just say... ahhmaaazing! The meatballs were so tender they melted. The bread was homemade and baked to perfection. My friends ordered the gyro, wings and fried ravioli. No complaints!
